For dessert, (sorry, I forgot to take photos), I adapted another recipe from the book and made very easy empanadas. I used strawberry cream cheese and cherries. Next time, I want to try blueberries.
To make 4, you need:
1/4 cup cream cheese
4 tbs light brown sugar
2/3 cup coarsely chopped fruit or fruit pie filling
1 pack refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 tbs butter, melted
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Blend the cream cheese and 2 tbs sugar together, then fold in the fruit. Unfold the crescent dough into 4 rectangles. Spoon the fruit mix among them.. Fold the dough over and seal the edges. Bake according to the dough directions (about 11 minutes). Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with the remaining sugar.
